Start your engines! On May 18, Leeds Memorial Park will shine and shimmer with a sea of gorgeous cars. The 4th Annual Cruising the Creek Bank Car Show is coming up, and whether you’ve got a classic car or just want to see the sights, you can bring the whole family to a day of fun in the park. Proceeds from the show will benefit St. Clair County Backpack Buddies and Leeds Outreach.
When and Where
The car show will be held at the Leeds Memorial Park on May 18, from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. Leeds Memorial Park is located at 801 Helen Street, Leeds, Alabama 35094. If you’d like to strut your own ride, the event is open to all vehicles and motorcycles, with a registration fee of $10.
The Car Show
Classic cars, muscle cars, roadsters, hot rods, rat rods, low-riders, choppers, and so on. All are welcome at the park for the Saturday show. Last year, more than 250 pulled up to the park, so there’s plenty of competition. The top 30 vehicles will be awarded customized trophies, so shine up your chrome, hang up a new air freshener, and come out! There will also be some fun door prizes.
The Creek Bank Festival
The car show coincides with the Leeds Creek Bank Festival, a day-long event filled with food vendors, arts and crafts, live music, and more. You may hear the uncanny voice of Elvis in the air, and you can cheer on the colorful mascots as they engage in a friendly game of tug-of-war. There will also be plenty of fun and games for the kids, so bring the whole family out to the park. Your dog is welcome to join the festivities, and you can even register your canine companion to participate in the dog pageant. If your classic car doesn’t win top honors, your four-legged friend can still charm the crowd. The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
